Bickford's Country Kitchen

 Randall & Carolyn Bickford

 2216 Myers Cove Road

 McMinnville, TN  37110

Randall & Carolyn Bickford’s Log Cabin built on a flatbed farm trailer is becoming a familiar sight at area Folk Festivals.  Randall, nicknamed ‘Bear’ built the cabin in 1991 and furnished it like Grandma’s kitchen. The duo prepared 250 loaves of sourdough bread and 1,200 old fashioned molasses cookies for their last show at the Fall Creek Falls ‘Mountaineer Folk Festival'.  They can jams and jellies and are known for their apple butter. For several years their biscuits, sourdough bread, muffins and cookies won many blue ribbons. Randall and Carolyn reside in the Smyrna Community outside McMinnville, TN., overlooking the beautiful Collins River.  On their 40-acre land, 40 peacocks roam freely, but most of the land is used for growing nursery stock. The Bickford’s offer hot Coffee, Sourdough Biscuits with Country Ham/Country Sausage/Jelly, Sourdough Bread, Molasses Cookies, Walking Sticks, Lye Soap, Painted Gourds & Magnolia Leaves, Humming Birds made from Spruce Cones, Crocheted Baby Afghans, handmade cloth items, Painted Rocks and Peacock Feathers.

Be sure to come by and say “Hello” to them at their next festival.  They will be at the Rugby in May, Mountaineer Folk Festival at Fall Creek Falls in September and again at Fall Creek Falls for the Christmas Festival in December.

In 2003 the Bickford’s joined the Farmer’s Market Association.  They began to set up in space # 24 in April of 2004.  Carolyn has held the office of Secretary-Treasurer since 2004.  At the Farmer’s Market the couple have the following to offer their customers:  Sourdough Bread, Sourdough Wheat Bread, Sourdough Rolls, Sourdough Cinnamon Buns, A Variety of Cakes, Muffins & Cookies.  They also have Jams & Jellies, Lye Soap, Walking Sticks, Peacock Feathers & Painted Gourds.  The Bickford’s also sell Muddy Pond Honey and Molasses.

In March 2007 the couple had their extra kitchen certified by the USDA.  The next time you are by the market come by and say ‘Hello’ to Randall, Carolyn & Dawn.
